Q: How do you ensure the quality and durability of your flies?
Durability is our top priority. We implement a strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) across our workshop to ensure every fly survives brutal strikes. Here are the key measures we take:
Strict Tying Process: We never take shortcuts. Our tiers wrap a solid thread base on the hook before attaching materials. For delicate bodies (like peacock herl or palmered hackle), we use counter-wrapping wire for reinforcement. We also flatten the thread for a neat profile and apply a double whip finish to lock everything in tightly.
Premium Factory-Direct Thread: We manufacture our own high-tensile tying threads in-house. Our experienced tiers strictly control the wrapping tension, ensuring materials never spin or come loose.
Application-Specific Adhesives: We use the right glue for the right situation. We use deep-penetrating super glue (ideal for saltwater flies) and thin UV resin that submerges into the thread to create a glossy, rock-solid head. We also use 2-part epoxy for securing components like 3D eyes.
Tiered Quality Control (QC): We run a rigorous QC system before packing. We perform a 100% inspection for large streamers and complicated custom patterns, and a randomized 10% inspection for standard regular flies. Our QC team strictly checks hook integrity, visual consistency, material proportions, and performs scratch tests for durability.
